What?? That offers no solution to his/her problem. If your going to try something different, use DVD Decrypter with Shrink ... why? Because DVD Decrypter is free and can auto burn with Shrink.

Newbie mistake. Didn't realize it was there. Any other ideas? I've applied 6.6.0.3 with the same results. This is driving me nuts.

Are you sure Nero is enabled in Shrink's preferences?

Hello ad7, welcome to aD,

I notice the following:

Nero isn't dead.
Nero writes just fine BUT not to completion.
Nero has found your disc so I surmise your firmware is OK as is your ASPI layer.

It appears that your burner began writing all right but then it lQQk's like you may have run out of room (?)

You burned at 2.4X, the speed of your disc, for 18 minutes without incidence - then, at the outside edge of the disc, it looks like your software started looking at the disc again -

I'm thinking that maybe you should dial back your "target size" to about 4.36GB so that you're not writing right to the edge of the disc. I'm not a big fan of Optodisc and don't recommend them HOWEVER if that's what you're using, - sometimes their dye doesn't flow to the edge of the disc as evenly as it should. Thus by dialing back your disc size you'll stay away from that critical outside edge area.

My recommendation is that you consider upgrading your quality of media BUT until then - give the size adjustment a try - It cannot hurt -

Pete

Couldn't agree more pete. If it starts writing and writes for a while then stops you should always bet on the media. I buy TDK +r from best buy(yes I know how much they cost 1 coaster out of 150) and branded ridata +r from newegg. I have never had a failed burn, knock on wood. I have seen this problem posted here many times and cheaper media appears to always be involved.

By the way, the full version of Nero is one of the best burning softwares out there. It does a heck of alot more than just burn backed up movies. I have never had a problem with it.

Dear Ad7,

If your install of Nero6.6.x is an upgrade, from an installed version...may I suggest using Nero's clean tool and rebooting after removal of the old Nero. I had many problems uping to 6.6x that I never had with any other versions of Nero. When all else fails, check firmware on your burner.
