PS2 Backup with DVD+R

hey, im kinda new to using backups and the likes, i was wondering if i am able to use a DVD+R ( HP Computer ) to create PS2 backups. haven't tested it and i know i should test before i ask, but i haven't bought them yet and if they don't work then i won't bother spending the money.
Also wanted to know if the answer to that is yes, will i still be able to use alcohol 120% to burn them.

DVD+R can only be read on ps2 console versions 4 and up. DVD-R is the preferred disc to use.

Alcohol 120% can be used to create backups. My advice would be to create an image and then burn the image, don't copy on the fly. Burn at 1X for best results.

I recommend Professional Grade media such as TDK or Verbatim.



Please note that you need a mochip installed, or use a boot disc, in order to play copied games. Factory ps2's will not read copied ps2 games.

thanks i know i have a V4, so its all good. thanks for your help, but one more question, my HP says it will only work with DVD+R, could that in turn mean it would work with DVD-R too?

HP DVD Writer 300n
came with my HP Media Center desktop CPU about a year ago.

Oh and BTW i have a swap + Slide card on the way to me via mail, should be here tomorrow.

That burner will only burn dvd+r discs. I would recommend tdk or verbatim dvd+r discs.

those a bit pricey for me atm, but what do you think of sony? 50 pk is 39.99.
