Problems with XP Media Center 2002

Hey and thanks for reading my post. My computer was working fine for the first few months that I had it, Media Center was working fine. Then I went to play a DVD and recieved an error message that said to reinstall a decoder and/ or encoder. Thats when other things started to go wrong with Media Center. I tried restoring it to an earlier date--no use. I did a destructive recovery and the first thing I did on my "new" system was install wads of adware stopping programs and anti virus. I opened Media Center then and when I went to My TV or Play DVD, it just closed. I clicked to see the error message and this is what I saw:
App Name: ehshell.exe
App verification: 5.1.2600.2180
modname: ivivideo.ax
mod verification:2.8.21.0
offset= 00013a77 (when it goes blank from TV)
and offset= 00004ba5 (when it dies from DVD)

~Please help if you can, or if you have seen this problem before and know what to do. Thanks in advance and thanks for taking the time to read this post.
