Hi i need some help. Ive got a quicktime movie (filename ends in .xl.3ivx). I need to crop a black border off the bottom of the film, but all the editing programs ive found dont recognise it as an acceptable file. So either i need help finding a program that does, or maybe a program that'll convert it to a file they'll regonise.

that doesn't sound like a quicktime file to me. That sounds like an AVI divx codec or something similar. Try googling "3ivx" and see what comes up. But I bet is some compressed form of AVI or something. Most forms of quicktime stay in .mov extentions, reguardless of what compression codec was used.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:
