hi just got some taiyo yudens and wanna make sure they genuine and wanna know if someone can tell me?, disk id YUDEN000-T02-00 says dvd decrypter, YUDEN000-T02 says dvd info pro

The best way to know it's not fake is to buy from an approved source like supermediastore.com. They use Taiyo's trademark in their advertisements so that's as real as it gets. Chances are if you got it from a place that said it was Taiyo, and you paid a good amount then it is. The problems arise when people buy new brand media for dirt cheap that have the tayo media code.

My golden rule: If it's cheaper than Princo, then it's a fake ;-)

More seriously, there's no way to tell whether it's real simply by the manufacturer id, as it can be faked easily enough.

Follow kingd's advice and you should be certain to get the real deal. Anything much below $0.40 would be extremely suspicious.

My dad and I just split a spindle of Sonic -R 8X white inkjet printable from shop4tech. $33.00 per 100 shipped. My DVDID shows them as being Taiyo Yuden TYG02. Can this ID process be faked ? If not I'm going to order 500.

Look close to the bottom of the page for my post. I recieved an email from Taiyo Yuden informing me that those disk's were indeed fakes!! Sorry
