I'm having a problem with encoding a video. I'm going from dvd to xvid and I'm getting some skipping problem in the xvid video. When you watch the dvd at times there are horizontal lines that come across the screen. They just appear for a second and then go away, they add a little blur to the video is the best I can describe it. They are almost unnoticable when watching the dvd unless you know just when to look for them. When the movie is converted to xvid the parts that have those lines skip. It's like frames are just missing.

I assume this is something to do with interlacing. But even when I choose to deinterlace the video when converting it still skips.

Maybe the program I'm using just can't compensate. I'm using flaskmpeg to do the conversion. This is the only problem I've had with coverting movies to xvid so far, flashmpeg has worked fine until this movie, and it's done other just fine since then.

Any suggestions on the lines, how to compensate and get the video looking nice and smooth again would be great.
