Help! Matrix Infinity Problems

I am a newbie and i have just installed my matrix infinity on my v4 playstation 2. My backups load up, but the problem is it loads up so slow, also when I play my backups the game freezes and can't play five seconds with out it freezing. When I listen to the game loading it sounds like it is having a hard time reading dvd backup copies...it sounds like its trying hard. I just got a brand new laser so I know its not that. If anyone can help this lost newbie it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

What speed are you burning your DVD's at, you need to burn them at the slowest speed possible for best performance. Also, what DVD's are you using? Try a different brand.

I am burning them at 4x with Ritek Media is that ok?

Try burning at 1x, if still no luck try different media.

Just noticed you said you have a brand new laser. Did your backups work okay before then? Also, is your new laser adjusted properly?

My laser was repaired by sony a week ago. So they adjusted it.

I don't really know what discs are best recomended. But what I do know is that I use DataWrite Classic 4x DVD+R on my V9, and i haven't had a single disc fail yet.
