something went wrong with my dvd burner, after many burns

all of a sudden my dvd burner is not reconized by my computer.
i can play cd's no problem.
but it will not read a dvd.

Have you checked for a driver update?
If so.... try....

In System Properties, hardware, device mgr, look for your burner, if it's there, uninstall it and reboot, if it's not right click on Computer and scan for hardware changes, if it still isn't showing.....


Turn off your PC, unplug the power, open your pc, unplug the power cable to your burner, plug the pc back in, reboot, turn the pc back off, plug the power back in to the burner, reboot.

If it still isn't working you might have a resource problem, two devices are asigned to the same resource. That you will have to figure out what you last installed before you noticed it wasn't working.
