my version 4 ps2 is fitted with one of those old old modchip, forgot the name of it, but let me describe my sequence.

i use swap magic 2 to boot my dvds, what i do is to press and hold on to the reset button when i boot my ps2 up, and wait till the screen say insert disc i will release the reset button, and the disc tray will eject, then i have approx. 5 sec to insert the dvd then i will boot perfectly

i have read the hdloader recently and just found that i have a maxtor 40G hd sitting somewhere collecting dust, so i decide might to invest a little to save the loading time.

i found a cracked version of hdloader (ps2ownz version) so i burn it to cd (i have seen a tutorial to teach u how to turn it into a dvd.. but i could never get that to run.. anyway) and i could never use the swap disc 2 cd version to boot it up.. so i tried gameshark v2.01 then it worked.

so i formated my harddrive within hdloader, but i have problem installing the games, as hdloader saying that i m putting in invalid game discs. so i ain't be able to install

so i used winhiip to install the games for me, so far i installed Madden 2005 collector's edition and MGS3 onto the hd, and i have read that ppl having problem with the madden 2005 collector's editor.. so i gave up booting that one

But i couldn't boot up my MGS3 either... i have read threads saying that someone boot it up with mode 3 or even no mode... i tried either of them and all i got is black screen

i dunno what should i do now.. i have seen mc exploit, but i didn't understand the procedures nor i have any original ps1 games to use (i think i lost my gameshark ps1 game disc as well) so is there anyway to use mc exploit now??

you need cd loader to get it to work with swap magic.

i have been using swap magic dvd version 2.0 usa build for almost 2 yrs, and i have no problem booting any dvds so far, fingers crossed

but that's not really my interest, my interest is to get a downloaded version of hdloader to boot games on my ps2 harddisk (sorry if my previous thread confused u)

i can use game shark (same as action replay) to boot up the cracked version of hdloader, but i was not able to install games, so winhiip kicks in and install the games from my pc

when i boot up my hdloader, i m able to see the installed games on the hdloader menu, but the PROBLEM is that i was not able to PLAY these installed games,
one being METAL GEAR SOLID 3, as far as i know, it should be able to boot without any MODE enabled, so i did just that and all i got is black screen

my QUESTION is what happened? did i miss something in the process? or is the image is screwed? what should i do to tackle this problem?

one more question, for the modes, if , let say mode 3 works for someone playing MGS3, does that mean everyone should be able to play the game with mode 3? or other ppl might only be able to get it to work in other modes?

p.s. i ripped the image using cdvdgen off one of my previously burn dvds, the dvd that i rip it off from works and boots perfectly (using my swap magic dvd disc)
