Hey all,
First post....here goes --
My brother is receiving a PS2 for Christmas this year. Specifically, he's getting one of the newer slim models, or V12. I know he's going to want to play backups and all, so I figured I'd get him a Flip Top Cover.
However, as of this evening, I am still unable to find a site which sells one for this new edition.
Has anyone heard of anything coming out soon?
Thanks for your help!
Oh yeah, I eMailed www.PS2FlipTop.com and they said that they don't think it would be available for a couple of months! Say it's not so....
My PlayStation2:
Version:SCHP-50001/N
Backup Mode: FlipTop Cover (Blue) & SwapMagic 3.3
Media of Choice: Verbatim DVD-R
Software: DVD Decrypter (READ)
Alcohol 12

Thanks sly,
However, when I click on the link or just type in linker4u.com, the page cannot be found(?).
Also, nice wheels!

hello, for the new ps2 (slimline) the ps2 already opens as if it had a flip top cover on it, there is no cd drive. Anyways here is the website address when you can buy a switch (does the same thing as a flip top) and swap magic discs so you can play back ups on the new ps2

well now they have a , kind of, lid that covers up the sensors, but still lets you get the disk out,
http://www.ps2lid.com/ it would pry be simple as hell to do yourself..
but with this theres still one problem, YOU WILL BE USSING SWAP MAGIC. those disks suck, BAD. games have shitty boot rates, videos skip, and 1 in 5 games requires extra swapping, i would just send his pstwo to a modding company and get it modded. trust me. its worth every penny!

Has anyone actually got a PSTWO flip top? I've seen dates on sites selling them ranging from Dec 7 to Dec 27. I've mailed linker4u and PS2COVER asking if they are available to be shipped now, but neither has replyed to my mail and it's been almost a week since I mailed. Anyone have one yet?

The slimtool is wicked and better than any other tool as of yet. you can play your backups with the lid open or closed.

For those of you interested in getting a PSTwo Flip Top Cover, check out http://www.swapnslide.com they have the best price for the flip top that i have seen so far at a flat out 40 bucks for both the top and the CD's. I ordered from there and within a week I received my package. They also communicate very well through e-mail. Every question I asked was answered. Very reliable.

hey, punx777. I am not trying to bash you so dont get offended, but if you are having problems with the loading times of backups and video skipping using the swap magic I think that is just your personal problem. I have never had problems with my copies using that method. My games dont skip or load slow. Maybe you just did not get a good burn on the game, maybe bad media used to burn with and it is possible skipping of the video could be from your lens being dirty or a little off correct placement. I just dont want anyone to read something put out that is not true when they came here to get reliable info.

I completely agree with you lxhotboy. I have been using the Swap Magic disks for about 7 months now, and all my backed-up games play just like the originals. The only problems I ever had were more operator error (burned too fast, used crappy media, etc...).

WARNING ::: consolegadgets4u is a website that ripped lots of people off.
They were also called cosoleupgrade.com and ps2upgrade before.
This is just a fake posting above so watch out people.
