When I am playing a movie in media player, it freezes when I fast forward. I have downloaded ffdshow but Im not sure how to use it. Im also not sure if that is my problem. Need advice. Thanks.

Un-Install any program that install codec. Such as 3divx divvx angelcodec. Install FFDShow again, then install the latest Winamp it comes with a media player. I find it useful to play all video files no problem at all.
