Hi, im about to buy a Matrix Infinity fir my V4 Ps2 but I've seen many people with problems with this modchip. Is it an easy modchip to install and use? Is there a big chance of the modchip not to work or to damage your PS2 if you solder it yourself. Any tips for installing the Infinity so my Ps2 doesnt break since I have no more money left for a new Ps2. Please help.

If you dont have any soldering experience dont go any further. The points you have to solder to are tiny and some are difficult to see without a magnifying glass. Get an old circuit board and practice removing/installing components, and soldering wires to it. Then when you feel VERY confident soldering then consider trying it. I would say 90% of problems with mod chips is installation error.

A few essential things you need. 15watt soldering iron with 0.1mm tip, 30awg Kynar wire, hot glue gun or sticky back pads, desoldering braid or pen, strong magnifying glass and good light sauce. After you solder each wire stick it to the PCB where you need it before going to the next wire, it makes it so much easier. Some examples of installs here you may like to follow http://www.norcalmods.com/
Hope this helps.
