dvd wont read what its written

Can anyone help. My dvdr/cdr in my computer will not see dvds it has written. They play fine on the TV unit but the computer cannot see disc when its out back in. It reads regular dvds fine, just not copies. Please help, its driving me nuts. We use x-copy if that helps.--Thanks, Christa
