Good evening to all of you. This is my first post and I am new around here, but from what I have seen so far, Excellent site!

I hope the crackdown on bit torrent sites wont spell an end for bit torrent file sharing as I find it a very useful resource.

Anyway, to get to the point, I am having big problems and I cant get to the bottom of it :(

First I used torrentstorm and it worked fine for a long time. But recently (in the last week or so) when I add a torrent and click to start the download it just goes back to idle and wont start. In the error column it says one of the following:

"ConnectionError- (Unknownhostexception:redir.bthub.com)"

"Scrape error- couldnt connect to tracker"

"Scrape timed out"

"Scrape result invalid"

"unable to connect to tracker for scrape"

"downloader uexpectedly exitied"

I have tried the following to try and fix the problem:

Turned off Norton Anti virus and all firewalls.
Deleted all cookies and temporary files.
Set all my security to low and accept all cookies.
I know doing all of the above made me vunerable but I turned each one back on after it failed to fix the problem.

With it still not working I thought my IP may have been blocked for being a leecher. (Even though I seed regulary)

So I went to change my IP address but I realised that my IP is infact different evertime I connect to the interent (even though I am on BT ASDL Broadband)

I then tried a new program (azureus) but I am getting the exact same errors that I did in torrentstorm.

I have ran out of things to try to get it working once again, so please people, do you have any ideas what could be wrong?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Bellamy.

ps. I dont have a router. Thanks

I have now installed a new pc in my home, downloaded Azureus and STILL the same problem- failure to connect to tracker.

I a really beginning to lose patience with this, no one seems to have any ideas, I have ran out of things to try and the problem remains.

To run a Bit Torrent client, you need general Internet access for the inbound file sharing, and outside world access configured on your ASL box to TCP port 6881 on your Bit Torrent client PC for the outbound file sharing. If you already have this configured, the scraoe error problem is not in your ASL configuration.

Your likely problem, and I quite often experience the same thing, is a temporary inability to contact a Bit Torrent tracker. Keep in mind that the Bit Torrent technology has become extremely popular in the past year. At this moment, there are more than 9 million machines participating in more than 250,000 different Bit Torrent swarms. However, the access to these swarms are controlled by less than 1,400 tracker sites. Since every Bit Torrent client check in with the tracker on a regular basis, the tracker sites often get overloaded. This creates connect errors on the Bit Torrent clients.
