hi sup, i need an app that will let me quickly and effecintly rip a dvd to an avi file. I dont really need a high quality rip, just a decent avi (encoding doesnt matter) with a good resolution and sound.

If you are willing to pay money, try Pocket DVD (for Palm or PC). It's extremely easy to use, and you can get nice quality 250mb AVIs. It will rip a 2 hour movie in one hour. If you want freeware, try DVD Decrypter (to rip to an ISO read file), and a product called Fair Use (to convert to Xvid/Divx). Using this method for a two hour movie takes about 30 minutes to rip the DVD and 1.5 hours to convert. Let me know if you need specifics.
