Problem installing mcexploit with region-x

I'm trying to install mcexploit with region-x and i can't get it working.
I boot the machine with region-x disc and when it asks to choose region, I do swaptrick. Then by pressing "start", it tries to read my exploit disc but in awhile I get the "red screen" that tells me that disc isn't in playstation format.
Is there something wrong in my exploit disc or am I doing somethin wrong?
I think my ps2 is v9 (silver).
Does this silver ps2 read cd-rw discs? I don't want to make any more coasters.
