I have Verizon high speed DSL, and am wondering if the yellow cable that comes with the modem/service is a suitable crossover cable for connecting the modem and xbox. Thnx in advance guys ;)

The DSL cable MIGHT work, but to be on the safe side (and to avoid the hassle), I would get a guaranteed crossover cable. The link you gave was a good choice.
