ISObuster and scratched DVD

Reading in another forum that Isobuster did good job of reading discs that otherwise were unplayable. I am not real familiar with this tool, but tried it on a DVD that 'Shrink could not decode.
Isob. also could not read at least 2 files, thus I guess I cant make workable backup. I did use a scratch tool on the disc before attempt.
Had hoped it was going to read all but what was impossible, then provide useable file that may skip just seconds here or there when burning.
Just what is main use for ISObuster?

Have you searched for ideas on how to repair the disc?

I've heard furniture polish can work. Spray on and wipe from middle to edge.

Also, try using DVD Decrypter to copy it.

Who uses ISObuster, and for what purpose. As with many of these A/V applications, I have downloaded, installed, tried out is some cases. Then I fall flat, and wonder....."So?" Now what?
So I'bstr creates an .iso file from DVDs (and ?).
What does one do with that file?
