Motorola v300 sound problem

I recently got a motorola v300. The problem is, when I go into sounds and try to listen to my ringtones, it's silent, although it appears to be playing. I've tried all of my sounds to see if they work. They worked for a short time yesterday and then stopped working again. The profile is on loud, and I've checked the settings, and read through the user guide, but I can't seem to be able to fix it.
