I have a bunch of movies on my HD that are mpg, avi and asf. I want to burn them onto a dvd. I have a sony dvd burner. I have used TMPGenc to encode all the movies. My questions are:

1. I know i can burn them as vcd to a cd and play them on my tv but i want to burn them as dvd. I tried to use tmpgenc to encode them to dvd but the file output size was over 4 gigs. Each movie ranges from 400mb -800mb. I would like to put a couple of movies on each dvd. Why is TMPGenc trying to increase the size so much? Is there a better way or am i doing it wrong?

2. I am using TMPGenc and then will use Roxio 6 to burn the dvd. I also have a copy of Ulead. Which is the better program to accomplish my goals? Not lookign to get real fancy but i wouldn't mind making a menu to choose which movie i would like to play. With VCD i can put like 3 movies on a cd but no menu. The movies start and i just skip to the next one if i don't want to watch the first one.

thanks
