Has anyone had luck burning DVD's on a laptop?

I on the road 25+ days per month.
I need to buy a new laptop, and was thinking of getting one with a DVD burner.
Any suggetions on Make, Model?
Anyone had any success using a laptop to burn DVD's?
I'd appreciate any advise before I spend the extra money for a DVD RW.
