sonic recordnow dvd to cd-r

I have a dvd that has 600mb of data and I want to copy it to a cd-r but when i try it asks for a dvd-r and wont accept a cd-r. I am using Sonic Recordnow v7.1

Any Suggestions?

You may first convert the data into mpeg format, then burn to cdr.

copy it to your hd first then you can do what you want with it
