I tried to boot up my Ritek G04 DVD-R and Phillips DVD+R dvd backup movies using swap magic dvd boot disc and it did not load. I don't need to use those discs right I can just pop the burned movies in and it will play?

as long as they are dvd format movies (like not burning AVI on the dvdr) then no you don't need to use swap magic.
