Hi,
I know absolutly nohting with enconding. So please dont tell me advanced stuff. I have videos on a VHS and I want to transfer them to my computer so I can burn them to DVD-Rs. Now please dont give me how to do it right now because I want to make sure that the capture card I have right now is compatible with my computer, because Idont want to mess up my pc.
A couple of months ago, my father gave me a capture card. It's an ATI but I dont know the model so I will give you whats written on one of the black chips,maybe its mentionned:
ATI Rage Theater
213RT1ZUA43
MBR44
0201SS

I dont think the model is written but i just tried.
My first question is, I want to know if it's compatible with my computer. My capture card and my video card that is currently in my pc are both AGP, so I guess I must remove the video card and replace it by the capture card, right?

Here are the comp. of my PC:
P4 1.8GHZ with WinXP Pro SP2
256MB of RAM
Video card: Geforce 4 TI 4200 128mb
Motherboard: P4P800 SE

My 2nd question: If you know what my capture card is, will it encode the videos with high resolution/quality or will it show a poor quality?
