ok i am getting a pioneer dvd burner and once i get that wut do i need to burn dvd's

first off, just in the future, a more descriptive subject will help your question get answered faster.

secondly the dvd burner itself is key. your burner will include software such as nero or roxio for you to write to media. thirdly you will need media to store your files on. and lastly, you might need something such as dvd shrink in order to make your file size more manageble.

Fourthly...lots of hard drive space!

Go here for guides on how to use DVD Shrink. It is the easiest way to backup DVDs.
