DVD+RW over 4.7GB

guys, can someone explain why you can't use the dvd decryptor "backup" method on disks over 4.7GB - would it work if you simply used a larger disk? i.e 9GB disks in your drive

cause they dont sell discs bigger than 4.7 gigs

A DVD9 is two layers glued or fused together,there will never be a DVD9 burner.

the second layer is semi transparent and a diffrent color so that cirtin colors of the light spectrum do not see it at all

So then will there ever be a DVD+RW that is over 4.7GB that is not a DVD9?

There will be media larger than 4.7 but chances are it won't play in the DVD player's we have now, your realy talking about the next generation of home media storage. And there would have to be a reason to get people to buy new movie players,what ever the format. What I thing could be done is to have a DVD player with two lasers 1 top and 1 bottom laser, then you have two layers to write to if you use a 2 sided DVD. And yes I came up with that my self.
