I picked up one of these players a while back and am reasonably happy with it. Just one issue that perhaps someone out there can help with: when I prepare a DVD data disk with DIVX / VIDX / MPG or MP3 files using a DVD+RW at 4X recording speed, the player rejects the disk (just unloads it). If I do the same thing with a DVD-RW at 1X, it works fine. I don't know if it is a problem with the particular brand of media, the recording speed or the DVD player itself. Before I go and buy a selection of DVD+/-RW discs, can anyone shed some light on the matter?

Two other problems I have encountered - I had to follow the upgrade firmware procedure to get the unit to play anything other than standard commercial DVD's, and, when I use my Toshiba TV control, it occasionally does funny things to the DVD player, such as reprogramming it to PAL mode.

But it does a terrific job on DIVX and VIDX playback.
