NVE3 menu backround music problem

I am running the latest version, 3.0.1.4, everything works great except one small glitch- I have a song set to play in the backround while the menu is showing. When I put the DVD in my player, whether PC or set-top, it plays my menu fine, even the button animations, but the song will not play, UNLESS I start playing the movie and press the menu button to go back to the menu, then the song plays fine. I know this may seem trivial but this is a production that people are going to be taking home and will have no idea to press play then menu and it wouldn't seem very professional to put such instructions on the case!
