I just bought a plextor 716a and when I burn my DVD's the speed for burn is only at 8x. I have a slow computer, a p3 800mhz processor. Would that be the cause or the 8x speed and not the 16x. And yes I choose max for burn speed. Or is it because I use 8x dvd, verbatium

Also when analysis it reads at 1.3x. Is that the normal or is the computer again.

It burns at 8X because it is 8X media, but with your computer I think you should be using 4X media, they will probably work better.
