I prefer not to compress, because I am sure when I invest in my 60" flat panel LCD screen, the inevitable deterioration in video quality will bug me .. I'm a stickler. That said, sometimes I compromise my principles if the compression will be slight .. if the DVD file is less than about 5.2 gigs I have been using DVDXCopy Xpress because it is fast, it has a decent compression engine, and it is a no-brainer. I like no-brainers.

The movies that I do not compress fall into two categories. Some don't have to be; they will fit onto one DVD-5 blank. I had been using an early version of DVDXCopy because it is a no-brainer. However it will only burn at 2X, and I have a BenQ 16X burner and use top-rate media, and I would like to make use of that speed .. so lately I have been using Express (because it will burn the damned thing in about 7 minutes) and the results are error-free and all my players like them.

SO .. my question is which is the FASTEST no-brainer program that will copy a DVD-9 DVD over two DVD-5 blanks? One that will burn at 8X or 12X or 16X with the right burner and media? Yes I know I'm not "supposed" to burn them at that speed, but I think with a good burner and great media (I use only Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden) you can break that "burn 'em slow for best result" rule, and my experience bears that out.

I've tried DVD Clone 3.0 and it sucks .. way too slow to rip. Nero Recode doesn't do that thing. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'd take CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD for a spin. Clone has a very good engine that does a great job and is pretty dang quick :)

DVDcopy3 is a simple program that is versatile and fast.
I you do need to compress a little it looses no discernable quality and does it faster than any program I have seen.

You would need Anydvd for this one also.

Personally I do compress and use DVDrebuilder. I have seen no degradation on playback using this method.
But if you like the 2 disc thing, have at it.

I agree. Slow and good is my preference. But he asked for the fastest no brain solution. Now he's got a few options.
I burn at 4x with my new 16x burner by choice.

With batch mode DVDshrink(multi-shrink) and Batch mode DVDrebuilder encode speed isn't important.
