Right now I have a home theater pc hooked up to my tv, not high definition. Anyways, its a p3 700 mhz with either 256 or 384 megs of ram, and has a geforce 4 mx 440 SE w/ 64mb ram. I can play any type of video file with whatever codecs I have on it at the moment. (including avi, ogm, and mkv)

However, whenever I try to play a dvd or any dvd file, it starts to freeze (as in it plays for about half a second, freezes, then plays again, etc)

Could this be a hardware problem or do I just need some different software. Thanks.

Also, if it is a hardware problem, would a 1.1 celeron be able to play dvds? thanks.
