i just got a magic 3.1 mod installed to my v5 PS2 it worked fine for the first day. today when i put A back up in,it say please insert a playstation or playstation 2 game.WHATS WRONG, please help.

ps2 - V5
P4 3.0ghz, 80gig hdd, cdwriter/DVD rom, 16x lg dual layer dvd burner

Could be the game. Was it the same one you played the day before? Was it burned at 1x (should be)? What software did you use to rip/burn the game?

I BOUGHT A MAGIC 3.1 MOD CHIP OFF OF MOD CHIP.COM AND I INSTALLED IT AND WHEN I WENT TO TURN IT ON THE LIGHT ON THE BUTTON TO OPEN THE TRAY DIDNT WORK CAN SOMEONE HELP ME.

ICP, you should type with caps off, people might think you're yelling (actually they WILL think you're yelling). Are you sure you got the correct chip? I know when I installed mine and put the PS2 back together I punctured the ribbon cable that connects the reset and eject buttons to the main board. Maybe you're having cable issues too. Other than that I don't know, maybe it's wired wrong.

the wires are in the correct place but tjhey gave me a yellow wire and i installed soldered that and the eject button worked fine the i tried it again and it didnt work i tried everything and nothing works so i took out the mod chip and it still didnt work so now i have a new ps2 i got it today and now i'll have to buy games instaed of weell you know.

because it's illegal and now i have no idea what ps2 version i have and i'm not gonna buy a new one in case something happens ti this one.

It's a illegal to copy games that you do not own but it is not illegal to modify your PS2 or install a modchip (unless you're in the UK) so you can play backups of games you own. I've lost over $150 in games that got ruined before I had a modchip installed and backed up my games. If you own the game the DMCA allows you to make (one) copy of it for backup purposes.

Its okay i took it to where i got the chip from it was a faulty chip and was replaced for free

Mod chips aren't illegal in Te USA. It is Illegal to install a modchip to get it to play copied games that aren't yours.
