i am a little ashamed because I'm a moderator and I'm supposed to know many things, but I'm quite new in DVD ripping and I've this strange problem.
Usually I rip a DVD with
1) Smartripper
2) using DVD2AVI as a frameserver and an audio extractor
3) using BeSweet to convert the ripped AC3 sound to MP2
4) using TMPGenc to make the mpegs (loading the D2V framaserved by DVD2AVI for the video and my MP2 for the audio).
The problem I have is with an early DVD (The Name of the Rose). I see many audio channels (an english 5+1-channels, an english 2-channels and many foreign 2-channels streams).
This is the most useful txt part of the output (where I ripped only the engligh 6ch, Stream 2):
Stream[001] 0=[[0xE0] Video PAL 720x576] [PTS 0:02:13] [Delay 0 ms] [@0] []
Stream[002] X=[[0x80] Audio English AC3(6Ch) 48kHz ] [PTS 0:00:45] [Delay -88 ms] [@0] [384 kb/s]
Stream[003] 0=[[0x81] Audio Italiano AC3(2Ch) 48kHz ] [PTS 0:00:45] [Delay -88 ms] [@1] [192 kb/s]
Stream[004] 0=[[0x82] Audio English AC3(2Ch) 48kHz Directors Comments] [PTS 0:00:45] [Delay -88 ms] [@1] [192 kb/s]
Stream[005] 0=[[0x83] Audio Français AC3(2Ch) 48kHz Directors Comments] [PTS 0:00:45] [Delay -88 ms] [@1] [192 kb/s]
Stream[006] 0=[[0x84] Audio English AC3(2Ch) 48kHz ] [] [] [] []
Stream[007] 0=[[0x20] Subtitle English Normal Caption] [PTS 2:49:33] [Delay 10040 ms] [@242] []
Stream[008] 0=[[0x21] Subtitle Italiano Normal Caption] [PTS 2:49:33] [Delay 10040 ms] [@242] []
Stream[009] 0=[[0x22] Subtitle English Normal Caption] [PTS 2:49:33] [Delay 10040 ms] [@242] []
Stream[010] 0=[[0x23] Subtitle Italiano Normal Caption] [PTS 2:49:33] [Delay 10040 ms] [@242] []
Stream[011] 0=[[0x??] Others] [] [] [] []
Usually, after the VOB ripping, I save a frameserving .D2V project with DVD2AVI demuxing the audio track (which usually is track 1), too. I usually encode with BeSweet the audio trace .AC3 --> .MP2 and I can make my MPEG streams with TMPGenc Plus.
The big problem I found is that on that DVD I can extract all languages but not the english. This happens even if I change the Audio__Track Number in DVD2AVI (and only on that damn DVD). More, if I double click any .VOB I ripped (I ripped only the audio to keep them on my PC; the movie is OK) I can hear the right english audio. I haven't found any response for this on the net.
More, when I save the D2V project the audio part of the 'Infomation' window is empty (and compeletely empty on the only-audio backup)
Is there a solution? What did I do wrong?
