So far I've tried everything I've read in these forums (Memorex DVD-r, +r, DVD decrypter, Nero, 1:1 burn speed). The disc is being successfully completed (msg on the screen after burning) but my PS2 ver. 7 with a soldered modchip is displaying msg "please insert a Sony disc or PS2 format" or something to that effect. Any suggestions? It plays original discs fine. Thanks.
have you played a copied game on the console before?
if no,i would get a PROVEN working copy, try it,if this doesnt work, your modchip is probably fitted incorrectly.
what modchip is it?
It is the ps2 Duo 2 for version 7. I had the same troubleshooting idea but I don't know anyone who actually has done this. I keep hearing about someone who knows someone who's done it. Do you have a known good copy you could send me?
I dont wont to sound dumb but i have a basic question if some one could answer it do you have to have a mod chip to play a game that you back up or can you just rip it like a dvd and burn it and it work
james, you dont nessecarly need a mod "chip" fitted in order to load up ps2 backups.
there are other methods available that require no chip at all.
regards hursty.

my email returns are not notifying me of any added posts(hotmail.com is piss poor),so SOXLEY,you need to PM me,else i might miss this thread.
