I am interested in buying a DVD Recorder, but I am very new to all of this. Would anyone recommend a PC based recorder or a standalone system? How about the HP DC4000 Movie Writer? Also, has anyone used the GO DVD from Sima? I want to be able to copy protected videos/dvds for personal use only - does the GO DVD help or would anyone recommend another system?

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, does anyone know anything about burning a NTSC dvd to a PAL format and vice versa?
