Is their not an easy way to convert the audio within an AVI from VBR to CBR without DEMUXing it?

Also I have converted some DIVx using Dr.DivX and set the audio to CBR but after about 30 minutes the audio start to go out of sync slowly. Why does the audio on a recording that the AV400(Archos) record does not go out of sync! is their a particular setting i need to convert my DivX and Xvids to!?

At the moment i am converting the entire DivX Video and audio where i just want to convert the audio within the avi making the process quicker!

Does anyone have any ideas!
