what kind of brand of DVD R to you guys use. I use Mitsumi and it doesnt work, but when i use memorex it works.

DVD media is something you have to find out about yourself, by this I mean its the media that suits your burner and standalone player the best.
Memorex isn't the greatest of media, but if it works for you then go for it.
But better ones like TDK, Verbatim,Sony, Ritek, TY and Fuji, just to name a few are what I have used and they are good quality media, as some of the members here I'm sure would agree with.
But a lot is trial and error, but if you start with the better brands then you will quickly find what suits your equipment best.
