SwapMagic 3.3 does not boot

Whenever I try to boot up my SM 3.3 DVD there seems to be a long pause at the Browser/System Configuration screen. From there the Playstation 2 logo appears but only for a split second. Then I get kicked to the Browser screen showing my memory card and the CD icon.
I try selecting the CD icon but the same thing happens again.

Is this a problem with my SM DVD?
The SM CD works fine. I'm using a v4 PS2

Please help!

I tested the SM DVD in a friend?s PS2 and it seems to boot just fine.
I've tried cleaning the lens on my PS2 but it doesn?t seem to help.
Does anyone have any suggestions? (Besides buying a new Playstation)

The same friend suggests I use a CDloader fix, but that?s used to help boot games that normally have trouble with Swap Magic, right?
Would it help boot the SwapMagic DVD?

Mine's other way round to that, my CD doens't boot but my DVD ones does. However the CD one boots on my slimline PS2.

Well, I found out it?s probably my laser. I used the guide found on this site to clean it, but it doesn?t seem to help. I don't even see the lens move up or down when I spin the white gear.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there any other way to clean it?
