I just got a PC (I have been on mac) and I want to backup dvds using DVD2one (something I used on mac). What kind of ripper do I need? What Kind of Burning software?

DVD Drcrypter or DVD Shrink will rip your movie (both free) and DVD Decrypter and Nero will burn your movie.
All these are available here on this site.

You could also try the: DVD±R - DVD2One forum for info - though does not appear to have many users.

For ease of use bardie's suggestions are sound.
