Aladdin Modchip Installation.....Help !!!

Ok I installed an aladdin advance plus xt modchip in my xbox...I followed the instructions...soldered every wire I was supposed to, but the xbox still boots to the xbox dash. It doesnt even show that theres a modchip installed. One thing that happens when I hold the eject button down It powers on and powers off right away. When the modchip is connected and I hit the power button it boots to the xbox dash, but will not let me turn off the xbox with the power button. If I take the modchip out it lets me power it off with the power button. I have a version 1.0 if that makes a difference. Thanks. You guys have been alot of help in the past hopefully you can help me now.
