Is it a Rumor that PS2 games can be backed up without the use of a MOD Chip or Flip top?

not xbox on PS2, Burning PS2 games and playing them without the use of a MOD Chip or Swap Disk. Just pop it in and play

I have seen similar things b4 that claim to do the same thing but it's just not possible, in a few years it might be doable.
