Ok everyone here is the idea, god I hope it can be done. I love dance dance revolution, i got both the games for xbox and beat em all, over and over and over again. I need new songs! I plan if possible to find songs, write the step files for them, and upload them to my xbox via a modchip with ftp capability. Since you can download new content for dance dance with xbox live, i figure the game is programmed to look at the hard drive for new songs. So i need to figure out how they code their songs, and how to get them onto my xbox. I have taken my dance dance ultramix disk, put it in my pc and copied over all the vob, bup, and ifo files. I am in the process of trying to extract them to find out how the song and step files work together. If any of you have played step mania for PC which is exactly like dance dance, i think it might work something like that, where is had a song, a background pic or video, and a steps file that tells where the arrows will be. If so then I could in theory find any song, a pic, and code a step file, package it, and upload it to my xbox where then I could play it off my ddr disk. Does anyone see any probs in my idea, or any insight on how I could achieve my goal? My main probelm at this time is I am not sure how the song, steps, and background image/video work, what they are named, or how step files are coded for the xbox game. That is why i need to extract the files from the dvd. Please help me any way you can, this will be a mammoth project but the payoff will be awsome, infinite dance dance songs!
