Simple question; Do I have to burn my DivX´s to DVD or can I burn them on CD-R or CD-RW (my DVD player reads them all)?? I mean that can I burn my DivX movies to CD-R(RW) and look the movies with my DVD player (Pioneer DV-575S) at home?? U see...I don´t have a computer at home at the moment, but I´d like to watch the DivX -movies anyway...
The point you should keep in mind is that the quality WILL NOT ENCREASE during conversion. The quality is = or < than the original movie's.
Therefore my suggestion (but this is only my opinion) is: making a (a couple of) VCD(s) from an AVI starting movie is often more than enough; make a SVCD only if 1 CD-ROM are enough for the movie. NEVER make DVDs from small AVIs, do those only dir direct rips (without intermediate compressions).
DON'T USE NERO FOR MOVIE ENCODING (AVI --> MPEGS) : USE IT ONLY TO TRANSFORM MPEG-1 --> VCD OR MPEG-2 --> SVCD. (or better, use it to make (S)VCD .NRG images on your HD and burn them later; this is safer). Use TMPGenc for the conversions.
Hi, I have a quick question, on the guide on how to convert divx movies to DVD, on the TMPGEnc part under 'Stream Type' should I be using ES or System?
Also, If the divx videos I download already have subtitles, do I still need to go through the part where I need to convert the subtitles?
