What is the difference between a dashboard and a bios? Also what are the purposes of each?

dash boards are what the xbox first boots to such as evox or the msdash. these let you launch to other files and dashes games and more. the bios are like the ground rules and tell the xbox what to boot in the beginning. this is why you cant have any hd and put it in. the original bios are the ones when you turn the xbox on it shows the animation and the big x.
