I have two questions concerning the DMS4lite/pro chip:

1.Is there really a chance the DMS4 will overheat the IC?
2.Has anyone heard of problems when having intalled the Toxic Bios?

Very grateful for answers, as I plan to have my ps2 chipped tomorrow (and it's 1 AM), and I'm still not sure whether I should choose Matrix or DMS4.

Hi How'd you go with DMS4 ? I've chipped my PSTwo slim with DMS4 Lite. I think the overheating could be down to the positioning of the DMS4 or other modchip. There is very little real estate on the motherboard that fitting a VLSI chip wont cause an overheating prob. The only place I found was on the top side of the motherboard under the top metal chassis , beside the mounting for the laser. There is a step in the chassis running (front to rear playstation orientation)the chassis steps up from the laser mounting to the height of the rest of the chassis. if you try to mount your chip under this step. You will find enough room to have an air gap between the modchip & the motherboard 1/4" & can use the mounting spot (on the underside of the top chassis as heatsinking). Mind you it isn't easy & takes a bit of mucking around to make sure it's in exactly the right place. The other thing is the wires all but one have to run to the underside of the motherboard.
