hey, I've tried backing up my ps2 games and it wont work. The only ones that I've gotten to work are games that are super small and fit on cd's. DVD is another story.
I use DVD decrypter and I do all the stuff. put in the original game in my dvd writer, go to iso>>read, make the iso then go iso>> write and choose the mds file. I kept getting an I/o error. I thought maybe it was becuase it was scratched. Guess again, I bought espn NHL 2k5, brand new out of the box, tried backing it up. GOt the same I/o error, so its not because its scratched.
Then i tried Alcohol and it burned fine, but it didnt recognize it in my ps2. I use swap disk or whatever you call it. Like I said, games that are small enough to fit on a cdr work fine. I cant get DVD to work tho. The only thing i can think of is my dvds arent good. But there memorex. Those are pretty good quality arent they? Anyways i'm really confused. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe I'm burning DVDs wrong........I'm new at it....
^^ just those swap magic 3 disks or whatever u call them. Damn, I bought 30 of these stupid Memorex disks for nothing then. SO fujifilm is gold for u? Guess I'll buy those then............
Well, your backups will never work if you 'Just' use the SwapMagic discs to swap. Are you using the eject button when you swap? If you are that's your main problem. Depending on your ps2 version, you either need a fliptop, slidecard, slimtool, tape mod, etc. with the SwapMagic discs.
..And also, noone seems to have any luck with memorex dvdr's.
-hmm, if you're getting an I/O error when burning, then something is probably wrong in your burning process too.
nope the burning process is fine......I used Alcohol and it worked fine. Everyone says DVD Decrypter is great, but I kept getting that I/o error.I have no idea whats up with that. So i thought it was the disks cuz well there crap.
I use one of those slide tools by the way, so its all good. I'm not that dumb haha. And ya people say Memorex is pretty bad. They do suck, but I've found ALcohol is working pretty good for me with them. Thanx you guys......
I use Princo DVD-r and they work perfectly. I use Alcohol 120 to create an image of the DVD, then I burn the Image using the defaults. I have yet to get a bad backup.
