Hi. I have a Sony DW-D22A. I have really two seperate questions. The first is, how do I determine the 'speed' in terms of HQ, SP, LP and EP? I am trying to burn several movies to DVD and I would like to use LP or EP if possible, but I have yet to figure out how (or where) to set this speed when converting or burning the files. I have been using winAVI to convert the AVI files to DVD. For example, I have a movie that is about 2hr 39min in length. I go to the options and set it to use 1 DVD (instead of the option to split the file at a certain size). However, it always breaks it into 2 DVD's - the first around 45 min, the second about 2 hrs. I would like to set it so that the entire 2.5 hr movie can fit on a DVD, since according to the packaging, EP mode gives me 480 min of recording (on my DL disks). How do I set this?
My other question involves DL recording. Are there certain programs that recognize the 8.5GB disks? Ive tried Nero (which sees it as 579 MB) and Stomp RecordNow (which doesnt see it). Ive looked for a firmware upgrade to the D22A but cant find one. Ive read in other places that it is the same as Lite On's 1633S, but I tried it and it says that it is the wrong drive. Any help?
