dvd infopro...what's happening????

>I downloaded successfully ( at least I think I did) DVD INfOPRO. My main objective is to try and erase my DVD+rw's. When I click on the icon.......the screen pops up. At the bottom of the box.....the status bar says ready. I inserted the +rw (to be erased ) into the lower drawer (teac dvd+rw dv-w58e) and I clicked on the icon (inthe upper portion of the box)that says erases/formats. then I get a message in the status bar area: "no media present in drive". So I insert the disc in the drive above this one: drive D.... lite-on 4865 48x max.....and I also change to this drive in the section just above the "status" bar. and I click on the same icon and I get the same message. I even repeated these steps and clicked on the "DC erase" and still nothing.

I couldn't bring up the box to full size nor could I find any "icon" on the main screen that would allow me to access that exact page (which looked exactly like what I wanted). anyway, I'm stumped. I'm a senior citizen with some computer experience but I'm not a wizard. I'll probably need beginner directions.
