I am wondering if a program exists that will allow me to get video grabs from a DVD without having to rip it first. I would prefer to just be able to play the DVD by normal means on my computer, and be able to, at will, set my marks and grab a clip.

Is this just wishful thinking, or does a program exist that will allow this?

One more interested in this question.
I simply want to rip usually short clips from DVDs, including sound, to use as hilights in longer authored videos I make. My authoring platform is Vegas 5.
