I have made sure that DMA is on in the device manager, and the funny thing is the first dvd i tried to burn worked fine. Everyone after that has done this same error. Please help, i don't know what to do.

11:53:09 am,Looks like you are trying to burn at 8x. Slow it down to 4x or lower. I am no expert on Nero error messages. I mainly look at burnspeed and media code.Ty go2 are pretty good, but your firmware may need updated.

Try some rw's,this will slow down your burn and save on coasters till you get it straightened out.

I thought that was quite helpful.

Let's look again.

Your Nero is old.
Nero 6.3.1.20
Current version: 6.6.0.5
http://www.nero.com/us/nero-up.php

Your burner firmware is old.
Version: 100F
Current version: 120F
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1958

Your DMA is on for all devices.
That is correct.

Your disc's are OK.
Disc Manufacturer: TYG02 -
Disc Application Code: 64, Disc Physical Code: 193

You are burning at 8X.
Burn process failed at 8x (11,080 KB/s)
Many people find 4X much more reliable.

I don't see anything else wrong with the log other than it is failing to burn at 8X.

Update Nero.
Update burner firmware.
Try burning at 4X.
Try different disc's.

i actually encountered this same error a few days ago.. i've burned dvds before fine.. then just the other day i was using dvd shrink and nero to burn.. when it got done encoding and started to burn i would get the same error.. however i'm burning on 1x.

since then i've been using dvd decrypter to burn instead of nero.. however TRHR told me to try and download forceASPI from: http://aspi.radified.com/ so if you'd like to try that to fix it you can, i haven't tried yet because i don't have a new dvd to burn yet, and i don't feel like wasting a dvd-r since i don't have any rw's.

Jon - Just take this time and think.

I tried those suggestions, updated firmware and Nero, and it worked! Only one question, the one that worked burned at 4x b/c i was burning to a dvd-rw, however, i want to keep burning at 4x but i can't figure out how to set the burn speed to 4x when i'm using an 4x disc. I looked in Nero, and in DVD Shrink, can't figure it out, suggestions?
